Huntingdon Fusion techniques have a wide range of products available designed specifically to provide temporary sealing when conducting leak and pressure testing.
Used for applications as diverse as checking rainwater systems, drains and car radiators it is likely that something in the HFT portfolio is available to help speed up testing procedures. The overall range of products covers everything between 12 and 1000 mm and includes a selection of inflatable bags capable of sealing spherical and rectangular orifices. Special versions can be made to order-a major advantage offered by HFT because of its unique position as designer and manufacturer.
At the small end of the expandable range (12 to 150 mm diameter) the most commonly used product is constructed from and based on a nylon body which can be supplied with a natural or synthetic rubber sealing ring depending upon the application environment. Steel-based designs cover ranges between 50 and 1000 mm whilst aluminium is specifically employed for applications with ranges between 37 and 1000 mm.
Expandable devices are extremely useful for temporary seals. They are operated by applying a radial force onto the flexible seal through a manually operated screw within the base. Inflatable stoppers are constructed using a high grade latex inner tube and a polythene impregnated nylon outer cover. They can be made to accommodate a range of diameters between 300 and 1800 mm but can also be produced to seal rectangular and as well as irregular shapes.
Using products that are specifically designed for providing a temporary seal will ensure the leak is safe until it is fixed permanently.
